If a Link backup gets stuck, your device is corrupt. Use Ultimate Backup if you are still old-school and refuse to use the cloud.

Nor can you restore to a device that does not use the same BBID that is encoded in the backup. I'm not necessarily stuck on BB10, I'll move as soon as I find something better. You can't backup without a BBID. Obviously when this phone dies, that's the end of the line for this one, but I do have perfectly good hardware I can restore to and the way things are going, it's looking like I can continue to use BB10 for a while longer. Maybe I missed the memo, but my understanding was that as long as I'm not signed into BlackBerry Protect and do the backup, I can also restore to a phone which has not been signed into. Of course I can de-select the runtime, then it will carry on and hang at some other app, and so on and so on and there's not much point in a backup that only does 1/3 of my phone, right? You did not mention DBBT as a backup although that really is no different if something else is fudged.īut that misses the point. Try everything mentioned in other threads - known good cable (preferably BB brand) - different usb ports - smb1 activation - try running your backup program in Win 7 compatibility mode etc. (Sachesi or Link is still responsive, it just seems stuck waiting for the phone to do something)ĭe-selecting the runtime allows it to proceed, but will typically hang up at some other app (different for each phone) and I end up having to de-select about a third or half my apps before the backup can complete.Īnyone have any ideas what's going on here? I can't imagine I'm the only one.As you've no doubt seen all the threads regarding the problem, there does not seem to be an easy answer why some have all sorts of problems and some do not (like me). Doesn't matter which phone, they all do this now.

If I try to do a full backup, it stalls at BlackBerry Runtime which is typically about 6-7% through the process. It doesn't matter if I use Link or Sachesi, same result. It's been a while since it has worked properly.
